A fire in a commercial building caused damage to multiple businesses Monday morning.

 

Firefighters from Huntington Beach, Westminster, Garden Grove and Fountain Valley responded to a two-alarm fire at 14276 Beach Blvd. in Westminster this morning around 5:45 a.m. The fire broke out in the two-story building that houses Uncle Pete’s Cafe. One firefighter was slightly injured and the blaze was put out by 6 a.m.

WESTMINSTER – Several businesses were damaged by a fire Monday morning, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to a commercial building just after 5:30 a.m. near 13th Street and Beach Boulevard, said Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire Authority. Firefighters found flames visible at the second-story building and requested additional units.

About 40 firefighters responded, fighting the fire from the roof and the inside of the building, he said.

Units from Garden Grove, Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach Fire Departments also responded.

Investigators are still assessing the damage and the cause, McKeown said. Multiple businesses were affected by the flames, including a restaurant and a retail store.
